Meet your child’s teacher

Marlee Katlyn McDonald-Yepes, MBA

  • MBA
  • BA in Physics

Marlee holds an MBA, a BA in physics, and a TESOL certification in teaching English to children, and brings more than a decade of leadership, mentoring, and community-building — including diversity and outreach work at Boston University and program leadership in the Boston Public Schools.

Her approach is grounded in empathy, consistency, and respect for each child’s own pace. As lead teacher and administrator, Marlee gives every family a personal, consistent experience — from drop-off and pickup to every conversation in between.

Values

What matters here, every day

Respect for the child

Every child is capable, with their own voice and way of learning.

Partnership with families

Open, honest communication, so home and school stay in step.

Joyful discovery

Wonder and delight, so children fall in love with learning.

Philosophy

Learning that follows the child

Children choose their own activities, and Marlee joins in to extend what they’re exploring.

  • Led by each child’s curiosity
  • Nature-inspired projects on a monthly theme
  • Two languages, all day long

The environment

A real home, with great outdoor space

Nido Del Sol runs in Marlee’s home on Canterbury St — space to play, create, and rest indoors, and a garden the children use every day.

Safety & trust

Safe, known, looked after

Small, simple habits that keep every child safe and known.

Licensed

A licensed family childcare, with group size set by the license.

One familiar adult

Marlee is the only teacher, so your child spends the whole day with one trusted person.

A private address

The full address is shared only with families who book a tour.

Ready for weather

Outside in the right coat and boots; on extreme days, garden time moves indoors.
